19 of the Russian's 21 championships have been achieved on hard surfaces

A revitalized Medvedev secured his initial championship for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament final.

The Russian, a ex- world number one, has endured a torrid period, managing just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.

His varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in specific - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally separating with former trainer Cervara.

Now training with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set triumph over opponent Moutet.

It is Medvedev's maiden championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt after that period of 2023.

Success also indicates the Russian has achieved 21 victories at 21 different tournaments.

"For the first time I'm at a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is especially meaningful," said ranked player the champion.

"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, featuring in that event previously this season.

His defensive strategy and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had led some to doubt if his capacity to compete at the elite level was concluded.

But the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to approach the net and play assertively, supported by an enhanced service.

He recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, winning four of the final five points to go ahead.

The competitors exchanged break points in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his initial professional victory, seized the initiative to push for a decider.

Moutet defended four early opportunities in a close deciding set before the champion secured a break to 15 to close out the victory.

Fittingly, the winner secured victory with a point at the net area, with his opponent unable to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
